This richly decorated Islamic ceremonial helmet is crafted from steel and lavishly embellished with gold and silver koftgari (inlay) work. The helmet has a tall, domed form divided into segmented panels, each filled with dense vegetal and floral arabesques executed in contrasting metallic tones.

Encircling the lower edge is a broad epigraphic band featuring Arabic calligraphy, likely invoking divine protection or blessing—common phrases include Allah, Nasr min Allah (Victory from God), or similar pious invocations.

At the apex rises a prominent finial or crest, also bearing calligraphic ornament, visually crowning the helmet and emphasizing its ceremonial importance. Attached to the lower rim is a chainmail aventail, designed to protect the neck and shoulders, composed of interlinked iron rings that drape gracefully and add to the helmet’s martial character. indicate that this piece was intended high-ranking officers.
