This is a classic example of an Indo-Persian kulah khud (war helmet), likely dating from the late 18th to early 19th century.

The helmet has a domed steel skull rising to a tall, faceted spike finial, which was both decorative and symbolic of martial authority.

he surface is divided into vertical panels, each decorated with finely engraved floral and scroll motifs typical of Mughal and Persian artistic traditions. Around the lower rim runs a wide engraved band featuring calligraphic cartouches and ornamental designs, possibly containing stylized Persian inscriptions, blessings, or talismanic phrases.

he helmet retains its original riveted mail aventail made of interlinked iron rings, designed to protect the neck, throat, and sides of the face during combat.

The craftsmanship suggests it was made not only for battlefield protection but also as a status object, likely owned by a cavalry officer or noble warrior.
